Blog 6 President and Poet

There is a difference between a president and a poet according to Smith. A president should not speak in many tongues and attempt to confuse his audience who may not be so skilled in voice or rhetoric. A poet on the other hand should express his feelings in a different way so that his audience may feel how they want to and may understand his work in different ways. A poet should be a liguistic artist and a man of feeling while a president should be a man of feelings as well but never a lingustic artist. He should know how to speak but never know how to con his people; While as for a poet this would be acceptable.
